Where drafts are stored

Drafts live in your browser's IndexedDB storage, tied to this browser on this device. They survive refreshes and restarts, but they do not follow you to another browser or another computer, and clearing site data removes them. Export anything you cannot afford to lose — every draft has an Export button that downloads it as a plain .txt file.

Prefer to leave no trace at all? Turn on Private mode in the editor's settings and nothing is saved.
